* Plate originates from ‘Beschryving van Oud en Nieuw Rome' (Description of Old and New Rome), a three-volume set by Francois Desseine, published by Francois Halma in 1704

* Mounted in Italian wooden frame with gilded liner, hand-lined matting and glass glazing, and ring for hanging

* Engraving in exceptional condition, with very light toning to paper

* Frame shows signs of wear, with light scuffs and nicks to finish, and worn gilding on liner
