* J.M. Pruden pottery company was an American stoneware manufacturer based in Elizabeth, New Jersey operating between 1816 and 1879

* In 1855 Elizabethtown was renamed to Elizabeth, as seen on the jug, therefor dates from 1855 to 1879

* In excellent antique condition with no crazing, chips, or cracks, shows a spot at the bottom rim beneath the handle which is unglazed and appears more yellow, some glaze drip at the cobalt tulip, a cobalt glaze drip present near the back, soiling at the underside, and a spot at the handle where more ceramic seems to have been applied
